Keepsake

February 9-10, 2018

30 tuk-tuks. 30 tv's. The streets of Bangkok.
LIV_ID would like to thank the  French Embassy, Sony Bravia and Sansab Museum for their support in Galleries' Night 2018

Keepsake

Cracks in pavement like lines in hands absorb, hold and tell story, the horizon tracing shared space between land and sky that defines what is here or there. Through questioning the quality and character of what can be kept as a memento, artists continuously confront the act of saving through lens intervention, recording what is being lost and envisioning what might be. The encounter created in and as Keepsake compels us to capture. As witnesses and consumers mementos are reimagined in the spaces we share. There and then are with us now, kept and carried.

Liv_id collective presents Keepsake, a mobile video art experience for Galleries’ Night 2018. During the two-night event, screens will be installed in tuk-tuk’s transporting viewers between galleries. Each screen will showcase short video art pieces from 5 Thai and 5 international artists. The approximately 35-minute loop of video art will play in each tuk-tuk allowing viewers to see between 1 and 2 artists in each ride. This will be the first time that audiences will be given the opportunity to view video art while traveling between galleries, as well as the first time a show of this nature has been curated in Bangkok.
